The purpose of my paper is to identify the similarities and differences of a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). As a CNA, and a pre-nursing student I decided to use both for my compare and contrast essay. I find it to be a motivation tool as well, sometimes the thought of being in school for that long is terrifying. Looking at this gives me a boost to want to further my education and become the Nurse I've always wanted to be.
I commented on Laurence and Courtney's blog
I know my sister is a part time CNA and works administration with many nurses. She has been a CNA since she was 18. THis is always our debate about which position does more. She often feels the CNA is like the glue that helps the nurses, by far. Great topic! Be sure to cite all sources you decide to use.
ReplyDeleteI agree! CNA'S are the glue that helps the nurses. Every nurse that I have ever worked with has always said we (CNA's) are their eyes and ears, without us they couldn't do their job. Both have very demanding duties, and both tend to be hard in different aspects. Something most people just assume is that a Nurse just passes pills. And well, that may be the case for some but I have met some pretty amazing nurses here in WA that go above and beyond. Sadly, both (RN) and (CNA) are often treated poorly. Making them feel unappreciated.
DeleteI'm hoping to become an RN, then eventually a CRNA. I'm definitely looking forward to reading this.
